İŞBİR and ASPİLSAN Continue Their Energy Investments

Subsidiaries of Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF): ASELSAN, TAI, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, İŞBİR, and ASPİLSAN are mentioned often for their success in defense industry both in Turkey and in the world. İŞBİR and ASPİLSAN accelerate their investments in the energy industry to gain new capabilities for Turkey.

İŞBİR is the first generator facility of Turkey. İŞBİR continues its activities in the production of generators and alternators. The company has been focusing on investments for sustainable growth aiming for cost and technology competitiveness. TAFF has allocated 76 million TL of fund to be used in the investment planned as 182 million TL worth totally.  

At Balıkesir Organized Industrial Zone, with a new facility that has been constructed on an area of 36.680 m2, İŞBİR aims to be the first domestic and national serial alternator manufacturer in Turkey. The new facility is expected to be operational in 2022. Hence, Turkey will move forward its capability in the domestic production within energy sector.  

ASPİLSAN, established with the donations of Kayseri citizens to meet the military battery needs, is the first and only company that manufactures civil and military aircraft battery in Turkey. ASPİLSAN accelerated its R&D investments in the field of energy storage. The company has three new R&D centres in Ankara, Istanbul and Kayseri. ASPİLSAN has made an investment planning in order to establish the first lithium-ion battery production facility in Turkey and signed main contract for the construction of the facility. TAFF supported ASPİLSAN's investment worth 186 million TL totally, with a capital increase of 109 million TL.

With the lithium-ion battery cell capability gained by the new facility, which is expected to be operational in 2021, ASPİLSAN will provide solutions to the increasing energy storage need with domestic resources.    

With the donations of great Turkish nation, Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TAFF) will continue to support its subsidiaries, namely ASELSAN, TAI, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, İŞBİR, and ASPİLSAN for the new investments that will gain new capabilities for TURKEY.
